Typical anti-scientific psychological interpretation and rationalization. Endogenous depression requires medical treatment, because it's the only thing that works in such cases. Would suggest reading some pubmed on neurobiology.

vegan anarchism compassion>greed turning someone into something=leads to lies and a tool and weapon used for even more harm. accepting reality is the way forward. we just like non human animals are able to feel fear, happiness, joy, suffering, why should we cause others suffering when we don't need to? if no need for X why X? if no X better? yes 100% on all fronts health/mental health/environment/spread of diseases/human rights/more. but compassion is "extreme" following the spiral towards destruction is the norm and not "extreme" seeing the fear in their eyes as they are unable to breathe just blood gushing out of their throat, fear, confusion, hurt. all for a 5 min meal. all for a burger. are we able to burger without someones body parts/secretions? yes. same taste? not 100% but will. even if not does personal pleasure justify this amount of harm needed for said personal pleasure. if we have a world built with the logic that personal pleasure>someones life do you think this will create bad things down the line? has it? can we learn from history? objectification of a individual is a tool and weapon used to harm not only non human animals but also human animals. what is usually the first thing we hear when people try to justify atrocities towards humans? do we lie and call humans non humans? why?` when you tell yourself that someone=something you can break IT without the need to feel bad about your actions. but when you call someone IT you're simply lying to yourself. action VS inaction. veganism is simply a inaction. if you do an action that causes harm you're the one that need to justify said harm. you can simply not kick the ball. checkout the book "undoing human supremacy" for a better explanation on the topic with sources!

My heart was broken when I was born. If my mother who is diseased now..left me in a bedroom closet when I was 8 months old and she did not come back or tell anyone what she had done with me before she left.. a neighbor lady decided to call authorities when she noticed I wasn't crying out any longer... it had been late afternoon on the 3rd day of of my mothers absence.. Was I fortunate? Was I a bad little baby or marked somehow. How does a child find value in themselves if our own mother thought of us as so much garbage to be simply thrown away?.. I'm 61 Years old now... Believe many philosophies and have helped many random ppl including total strangers .but I still feel no connections or bonds with anyone. I can't make close relationships last..I find myself making up a past sometimes. Mostly I don't feel real. 💔

12:12 "why is it so difficult to quit?" It's difficult to quit because you don't actually want to. Being drunk feels good, it doesn't matter how many horror stories you hear from other addicts or people who know addicts, being drunk/high numbs the pain you're feeling whether it's self inflicted or not. The idea of living life completely sober without ever being able to consume your chosen substance ever again is a scary thought, because of the immediate pleasure it grants you.

Took me 25 years of hospitalizations, addiction, hopelessness, feeling "different" than most. Something happened, I guess spiritual awakening, a few years back where I felt I had to be able to sit with self honestly. The rest of what I attempted for 25 years was all related to avoiding that. The suffering that perspective dragged me through almost killed me, but today through meditation, philosophical exploration, self-reflection, etc., literally everyone and everything appears so very different. I now felt that the WHY behind the WHAT is where the real reality lies. Only I could get me here, nobody could "fix" how I felt because I knew what I saw and how I felt about life around me... but was always told in one way or another it was something wrong with me.

I want to meet the artist, musician, child who are satisfied with oneself completely. Spontaneity is not the answer, sure moments of freedom, but nothing truly elevating. Look at real examples of people who are satisfied with themselves, there are very few but you know you've met them. Most of them are living a full life, and even then, I'm sure they have moments of doubt.

To be fair I was less interested in winning politics so much as understanding my relationship to the many systems that keep me alive, breadtube/lefttube seemed to understand that in indirect ways in the form of cultural critique aged to a millenial/ gen z audience. It did what that well, by taking out profit motive to the best of ones ability you get to see things that might get overlooked intentionally as a result of having an ideology that needs you to have a degree of willful blindness. ie. needing to pay bills or look after yourself or you loved ones. Unfortunately it kinda means everyone in the space will invariably have to "sell out", which to me just means a degree of acceptance and reintegrating where you think you can be most capable of participating on a long term scale. For me I'm at the end of that journey, adding an A to my STEM to make it much closer to STEAM, which has a pretty powerful inccoculating effect on picking bad actors peddling misinfo that actively pokes at emotional blindspots. ----Extra context backstory---- As a skilled migrant bought in to do STEM work, there is a huge de-emphasis on humanities in favour of practical sciences.... even a basic humanties education helps you pick up on a lot crappy real world behaviours in work places, I suspect an intentional part of corporate cycles who want to maximise productivity and minimise skilled labour costs. People who feel like work is their only life line tend be in a weaker negotiating position. So indirectly it is affecting the systems you want it to effect..put in the extra effort to see the kinds of people who do corporate work, I think you'd be surprised at how quickly things change when those same corperate drones feel even slightly seen and that they aren't completely reliant on corporate welfare for survival in their adopted country. Such a huge part of the alienation is wondering if the society you've moved in to even wants you around for more than your skillsets, here in Australia at least the social and corporate changes have been very noticeable since the 2020 lockdowns for COVID19. My old man suddenly received a "wage adjustment" a masters level QA factory worker, of 30 odd years...I wonder what level of wage theft that amounts to. My workplace slowly became visibly segregated along many lines that wouldn't be out of place in the 1960's as result their "cost management practices", with all the psychic toxicity that comes with keeping your mouth shut to keep your own employment potential preserved. -------end contextual rant----- My encouragement would be towards supporting formal, lateral peer-reviewed studies on employee mobility and promotion practices: Since the slightly more liberal Labor took back power at the federal level in 2022 in Australia, they've re-started a federally funded research project on gender pay equity and expanded its scope. www.fwc.gov.au/agreements-awards/gender-pay-equity/gender-pay-equity-research "Overview On 3 February 2023 the President announced a research project about occupational segregation and gender undervaluation. This research project expands on issues raised by the former President in November 2022. Research reports for stage 1 and stage 2 have now been published and are available on this webpage." To me its a huge deal, and something for folks to keep a side eye on as the results will provide empirical data on something most know though experience....unless it gets sabotaged again through funding being pulled or other indirect interference by parties vested in that sort of data not being verified. A similar research project that was attempted by the last progressive Australian Government and kinda seemed to disappear with no real results ~2013 when the conservative Liberal party took power around the same time, they went on a cost cutting spree that merged the Department of Arts with the Department of Transportation amongst other things. They seemed to understand how easy it was to sabotage progress by pulling funding and resources with few paying attention at the time like myself. So the fairwork project is my little baby of praxis, to sound the alarm if people try to mess with the project. Gotta be realistic, individuals/ culture can only do so much and if an institution is putting in the time and resources, all you gotta do is make sure is giving it the kind of attention that makes it hard for bad actors to make it disappear.

Great video, though I think it is disingenuous for Becker to assert that religion ever fulfilled the role of loving us truly unconditionally. Maybe in some cases, but there's a lot of history of religion suppressing identity and being used as a tool to make people fall in line. Not saying this to be anti-religion, but to pretend like it was some panacea to the crisis of authenticity is really not accurate.

I have done something wrong that also went through a game of telephone were I don't know what what knows and who told who what. I've now in a situation were nothing is going my way, how do I actually make people not see me as shit human being. How do I make want to talk with me, like they did before? I feel like people want to see me lynched now, even when I apologized. Even though I know I am not a bad person to the core, they now will of me as such. My right to have fun at my universities social gatherings feels revoked. My right to friendship on campus feels revoked. My right to love feels revoked. And there is I nothing I know to do, that will change a single thing The only thing I can do is catch that glimmer of hope that everything will be okay one day

I have dealt with dissociation as part of both BPD and DID (dissociative identity disorder). I experience derealisation a lot more frequently than depersonalisation, and it makes me unable to respond back to people despite being fully aware and attentive. At that moment the instinct we all get to respond to a reply diminishes, mainly because the person talking to me feels off, like i dont believe they are a real person with their own conscious thoughts, but also because i get quiet in my head and can’t get out of it.
